The ILED-CS-A S2 is the party version of the fairy string range: the same battery-powered format as the S4, with the controller adding music-active response. The display listens to the room and moves with it, which is the difference between a string that hangs there and one that becomes part of the evening.
The music-active controller
The controller pairs the remote with a music-active mode: the display responds to the sound in the room, running its patterns against the beat instead of on a fixed loop. That is the feature the party positions ask for — the display that changes with the playlist rather than sitting still under it. The remote keeps the rest of the control: nine colours, the eight flash modes plus constant lighting, and the 6-on/18-off timer.
The battery supply
The fixture runs on three AA batteries (not included) at 4.5V, which puts the display where no socket follows: the tent beam, the garden tree, the marquee pole. The 6-on/18-off timer is what makes the battery supply practical — the cells that would die in a night of constant light run for days on the timed cycle. On the music-active mode, expect the battery to work harder than on constant, and keep the USB-powered S4 as the option for the all-night positions.
The three lengths
The 5-meter string with 50 LEDs is the shelf, the mirror and the table-centre length. The 10-meter with 100 LEDs is the party wall and the pergola run. The 20-meter with 200 LEDs wraps the larger trees and runs the long wall. All three space the LEDs 10cm apart, and custom lengths are built by the factory to the measured display.
IP65 and the outdoors
The string is IP65 rated — dust-tight and protected against water jets — and the wire is PVC per the specification, thin and bendable, wrapping the branches and the rails and coiling back after the season. Keep the battery box sheltered, because that is the part no light string rates for full exposure.

And shop windows and event displays, where the timed cycle lights the window every evening of the season. The PVC wire is the honest detail here: it is thin and bendable and wraps like the copper-wire strings the range is named after, but the spec sheet says PVC, and that is what the string is made of. In each of these the battery box is the one visible part of the install, so it goes where the shelter and the access both work — the shelf behind the display, the hook inside the tent beam, the ledge under the window frame.
Choosing between the range
The CS-A family splits by power and control: the S2 runs on batteries and adds the music-active response; the S3 runs on USB alone for the positions with a socket; the S4 adds the dual supply for the displays that move between powered and unpowered positions; the S5 runs the 30 to 100-meter mains lengths; and the solar models cover the garden. If the display is a party where the sound matters and the socket does not exist, the S2 is the one in the range built for it. If the evening runs long indoors, the S4’s USB supply is the comparison to make.
