The body is aluminum. It acts as both the structural housing and the heat sink. Cooling is entirely passive \u2014 no fans, no noise. This matters in quiet environments such as churches and theaters where fan hum would be distracting during a service or performance. The finish is available in black or white. Choose white on painted ceilings where the fixture should blend in, or black if it is mounted in an open rig where light spill onto the housing is a concern.<\/p>\n
The fixture can be surface mounted to a ceiling or pendant mounted using the included hardware. Pendant mounting works when the ceiling is high and the light needs to sit lower for adequate coverage. The XLR data connectors (3-pin or 5-pin, specify when ordering) are on the side of the housing and remain accessible after installation. Power input uses a Seetronic or Neutrik locking connector, which will not pull loose accidentally.<\/p>\n
The FEL-AP1 M uses the DMX512 protocol, the industry standard for stage and architectural lighting.
