The ILED-OL-B24W EM is the functional version of the OL-B oyster family — the round ceiling light for corridors, lobbies and building common areas that adds motion sensing, dimming and an emergency function to the plain fitting. The family spans eight diameters from 300mm to 1000mm, so one design covers a whole building, and this sensor-and-emergency build sits on the same body as the standard versions elsewhere on the ceiling.
Eight sizes, one family
The range runs from a 300mm fitting at 12W and 1200 lumens up to a 1000mm model at 60W and 4800, with the 330mm, 380mm, 420mm, 500mm, 600mm and 800mm sizes in between — the 500mm carries 36W and 2880 lumens. Output reaches up to 100 lumens per watt across the smaller sizes, from LumiLEDs sources behind a 120-degree PMMA diffuser that spreads the light without visible dots. Colour temperature spans 2800K to 7000K at order, with colour rendering above 83. Because every size shares the same profile and the same white finish, a building can step the diameter up per area — 300mm in a corridor, 500mm in a lobby, 800mm in a hall — while the ceiling still reads as one fitting repeated rather than a collection.
Dimming, sensor and emergency
Three dimming protocols are available: DALI for addressable building control, TRIAC phase dimming for simple wall-dimmer circuits, and 0-10V for analogue systems. On top of the dimming, the sensor versions add motion detection with a standby mode — the fitting drops to a low level when the space empties and returns to full when someone walks in — and the emergency function keeps the fitting lit through a power outage. All of it is fitted at the factory: specify the combination at order, and the IP42 seal is never opened on site. That matters in practice, because a retrofit sensor or an emergency kit bolted on after installation is exactly where the sealing and the Class I wiring tend to go wrong.
Build and mounting
The body is iron with a PMMA diffuser, painted white, and the rating is IP42 — an indoor ceiling fitting, protected against dripping water and solid objects, which suits corridors, lobbies and stairwells rather than bathrooms or outdoor ceilings. It is a surface mount: the base fixes to the ceiling, the wiring terminates inside, and the diffuser closes over it. Class I wired, with the driver and the sensor hardware both inside the body. At the 500mm size the fitting spans a good part of a narrow corridor’s width, which is why the 120-degree diffuser throws an even pool rather than a bright disc under the fitting and shadow at the walls.
Electrical
The fixture runs on 220-240VAC or 110-277VAC with a power factor above 0.9, so one product line covers regional supplies without separate stock.
Where it gets used
Corridors and stairwells are the core job, where the standby sensor trims the running hours and the emergency function covers the routes that cannot go dark. Building lobbies, car park lobbies and amenity areas take the larger diameters, and the DALI version plugs into a control system where the floors are zoned. Housing blocks run the standard version on the landings and this sensor-emergency build on the escape routes, keeping one silhouette across the whole ceiling. Hotels and student housing take the same split on the back-of-house floors, where the corridors are legally lit around the clock but see almost no traffic overnight.
Certifications and warranty
The ILED-OL-B24W EM carries SAA for Australia and New Zealand, CE and RoHS for Europe, and TUV. The warranty runs three to five years depending on the region and version ordered. The sealed body needs no routine work inside; a wipe of the diffuser face keeps the light even, and the sensor behaviour only needs revisiting if the use of the space changes.
