Build and installation

The housing is round, machined from aluminum, with a white trim ring that sits flush against the ceiling. Aluminum does double duty as structural body and heat sink. LED junction temperatures stay under control without active cooling — no fans, no noise.

Installation follows standard recessed procedure. Cut the hole to spec (55mm, 75mm, or 95mm depending on model), connect the 5-wire cable, and push the unit into place. The mounting clips hold it firm.

Each fixture has a 20cm input cable and a 20cm output cable, both with five wires. The five-wire layout follows standard DMX512 pinout: DMX+, DMX-, common, plus power and ground for the 24V feed. This makes daisy-chaining from one fixture to the next straightforward — run the DMX line and power bus through the chain, terminate the last fixture.

Control system integration

The FEL-AD2 responds to standard DMX512 protocol. Any DMX controller that outputs 512-channel frames will drive these fixtures — that covers most lighting desks, PC-based control software, and standalone DMX programmers.

Each fixture occupies one DMX address space. With RGB fixtures that is three channels (red, green, blue). RGBW adds a fourth channel for white. Addressing is set via DIP switches on the back of the housing. Set the starting address before installation if possible — it is easier at a bench than on a ladder. The DMX implementation supports 8-bit resolution (256 steps per channel), giving smooth fades between levels. No custom protocols or proprietary software needed.

What is in the box

Each unit ships as a single fixture with the 20cm input and output cables attached. The lens is pre-installed unless a different angle was specified at order. Mounting clips are included. A few things to check before ordering:
