The ILED-CS-A S1 is the base model of the fairy string range: the battery string the other versions build on. Three AA batteries, a 5, 10 or 20-meter run of LEDs on 10cm spacing, nine colours and the flash modes on a remote. No music mode, no USB input, no solar cap — just the string, the battery box and the display, which is exactly what the straightforward jobs want.
The three lengths
The 5-meter string with 50 LEDs is the deck rail, the parasol and the bookshelf length. The 10-meter with 100 LEDs runs the pergola, the hedge and the party wall. The 20-meter with 200 LEDs wraps the larger trees and covers the long fence line. All three space the LEDs 10cm apart — the density that reads as a continuous line of light — and custom lengths are built by the factory to the measured run.
The battery supply and the timer
The fixture runs on three AA batteries (not included) at 4.5V, in the battery box that hangs or fixes at the end of the run. The timer is the feature that makes the battery supply practical: set the 6-on/18-off cycle and the cells that would die in a night of constant light run for days. On the decks and the fences where the display runs every evening of the season, the timer is the difference between a weekly battery change and a monthly one.
Colours, modes and control
Nine colours — white, warm white, yellow, green, red, blue, pink, purple and multicolour — ordered per theme. The remote runs eight flash modes plus constant lighting and holds the timer setting, so the whole display is managed from one control without touching the battery box.
IP65 and the outdoors
The string is IP65 rated — dust-tight and protected against water jets — and the wire is PVC per the specification, thin and bendable, wrapping the rails and the branches and coiling back after the season. Keep the battery box sheltered, because that is the part no light string rates for full exposure.
Where it gets used
Deck rails and parasols, where the string follows the rail line and the battery box tucks underneath. Christmas fences and hedges, wrapped for the season on the timed cycle. Tents and marquees, where no socket follows the beam. Wedding arbors and table runs, where the solid colours match the theme. And the seasonal windows and displays, where the timer lights the window every evening without anyone switching it. In each of these the pattern is the same: the string goes where the display is, the battery box goes where the shelter is, and the timer keeps the daily rhythm without anyone remembering to switch anything.
Choosing between the range
The CS-A family splits by power and control: the S1 is the battery base model — this one; the S2 adds the music-active response for the party positions; the S3 runs on USB alone; the S4 adds the dual supply for the displays that move between powered and unpowered positions; the S5 runs the 30 to 100-meter mains lengths; and the solar models cover the garden. If the display is a straightforward battery run — the deck rail, the fence, the window — the S1 is the simplest order in the range and the one the rest of the family is built around.
What the battery box needs
The battery box is the one visible part of the install, and it is also the part to plan. It hangs or fixes at the end of the run, it needs the shelter from the rain that the string itself does not need, and it needs enough access to swap the cells when the season demands it. Choose the box position before the fixings go in, and the rest of the run follows from it — the string measures from the box, not from the nearest socket, because there is no socket in the plan.
