The EcoBunker SAA IP65 275mm Eyelid LED Bulkhead Light (ILED-BH-R275-EL) is purpose-built for exterior wall mounting where downward-directed light is preferred. The half-moon visor concentrates illumination onto pathways while minimising upward glare — making it the better choice over the plain diffuser for eye-level corridor and porch installations. The round die-cast aluminum housing carries IP65 and IK10 ratings, matching the plain, grille and crossing variants in the same 275mm size.
Tech specs at a glance
The ILED-BH-R275-EL is a round 275mm exterior LED bulkhead light with a die-cast aluminum body and an anti-UV polycarbonate eyelid diffuser. It produces 1600 lumens at 15W or 1800 lumens at 18W, delivering 100-110 lumens per watt. The curved half-moon shroud directs light downward to reduce upward glare, making it well suited for eye-level corridor and porch mounting. Three fixed colour temperatures are selectable at installation: 3000K warm white, 6000K cool white, and a mixed 4000K neutral setting. Colour rendering is above 82.
Build and mounting
The housing is machined from die-cast aluminum and finished in white, black or silver gray powder coat. The anti-UV polycarbonate eyelid diffuser resists yellowing from prolonged sun exposure. A silicone gasket around the diffuser rim creates the IP65 seal — dust tight and protected against low-pressure water jets. The IK10 rating means the unit can withstand 20 joules of impact, enough to survive accidental bumps in a car park. Surface mounting uses the pre-drilled holes in the housing flange; the unit sits flush against the wall. The driver is internal and sealed, so no external ballast is needed.
Control and optional add-ons
The base unit is direct-on for 220-240VAC or 110-277VAC 50/60Hz mains. Three optional driver upgrades extend the range. DALI dimming replaces the fixed driver with a DALI-2 compliant unit — addresses are set via DIP switches. The standby motion sensor version integrates a PIR module for corridor-mode operation: light runs at a low level until movement is detected, then ramps to full output. The emergency kit adds a 2.5W battery module that provides three hours of illumination on power failure. All three options are factory-fitted; they are not field-conversion kits, so the IP65 seal stays intact.
What is in the box
Each carton contains the bulkhead light assembled with the eyelid diffuser, the integral driver pre-wired, and surface-mounting screws included. No separate transformers or controllers are packed inside — the fixture is ready to wire direct to mains. If DALI, sensor or emergency options were specified at order, those modules are installed before shipment.
What you need to supply
Standard surface-mounting fixings and a junction box if no existing conduit is available. For DALI versions, provide a DALI power supply unit and controller. For emergency versions, ensure the circuit is on a protected board so the battery can charge when mains is present. No special tools beyond a screwdriver and wire strippers are required.
Where it gets used
The eyelid bulkhead is purpose-built for exterior wall mounting where downward-directed light is preferred. Corridor walls in schools, hospitals and offices benefit from the concentrated downward spill that illuminates pathways without blinding passers-by. Stairwells and porch entries use the visor effect to light steps and thresholds. Car parks and loading bays take advantage of the IK10 impact resistance and IP65 weather seal. Entrance canopies and facade uplighting use the eyelid version when a focused downlight is desired. Coastal installations rely on the powder-coated aluminum and sealed driver to resist salt spray. The 3CCT option lets a single SKU serve both warm-white and cool-white requirements.
Certifications and warranty
The ILED-BH-R275-EL carries SAA approval for Australia and New Zealand, CE marking for Europe, and RoHS compliance. The warranty period is three to five years depending on the region and option selected.
Lifespan and maintenance
The LED array is rated for extended operation with lumen maintenance above the typical decay curve for commercial exterior fixtures. The sealed driver and gasketed diffuser mean no routine cleaning of internal components is required — occasional external wiping of the diffuser face with a damp cloth is sufficient.
