The ILED-FEL-X3 is the outdoor member of the FEL-X battery family: the same portable, cable-free operation as its indoor siblings, with the output raised to 216W and the body rated IP65 so the weather is no longer the thing that ends the evening. It is built for the garden party, the courtyard wedding and the festival stage where the fixtures stand in the grass and the rain is a possibility rather than a rumour.
Output for outdoor distances
Outdoor rooms are bigger than indoor ones. The X3 runs 216W from a 6-in-1 RGBWAUV engine, which puts it a class above the indoor battery fixtures and gives the 15° or 40° lens enough output to reach up a two-storey facade or across a garden wall. The 15° head throws the defined column up a tree, a column or the corner of the house; the 40° head washes the hedge, the tent wall or the poolside broad and even. The angle is fixed per fixture, so the choice is made at order time against the surfaces the venue has.
RGBWAUV colour
The six channels, red, green, blue, white, amber and UV, give 16.7 million colour combinations from the DMX or the app. The white channel runs the clean architectural wash for the dinner; the amber warms the stone and the foliage past what red and green can mix; the UV runs the fluorescent looks for the late part of the night. Colour matches across the whole rig from the control system, so the fixtures around the garden hold one shade at the same time.
The battery and the weather
The built-in 13200mAh lithium battery is the largest in the family, sized for the outdoor job where the mains is a generator with a queue behind it. Runtime depends on how hard the fixture is driven, so a dim garden wash runs the evening and a full-output colour show plans around a recharge from the AC100-250V input. The IP65 rating is what separates this fixture from the indoor members of the family: dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the rain that would end an IP42 fixture’s night leaves this one running.
Control without cables
The control suite matches the rest of the family: wired DMX512 for the shows with a desk, 2.4G wireless DMX512 where the cable run across the garden is the problem, master-slave linking so one fixture drives the rest, self-propelled built-in programs, an infrared remote for quick changes, and a WiFi phone app for Apple and Android. Channel modes are 6, 8 or 10.
