The ILED-FX-3528 is a flexible SMD 3528 LED strip in five brightness variants, each using standard 3.5 mm × 2.8 mm single-chip LED packages on a bendable printed circuit. It is controlled by a single-channel PWM dimmer — the entire strip changes brightness as one zone. Choose the variant that matches your lumen requirement and power budget.

Colour options

Seven colours are available: Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Warm White, Cool White, and Commercial White. The saturated colours (R/G/B/Y) are chosen for accent and decorative lighting where a specific hue is needed. The white variants differ in colour temperature: Warm White (2700K–3000K) for residential ambience, Cool White (5500K–6500K) for task lighting and commercial spaces, and Commercial White (4000K) as a neutral middle ground used in offices and retail environments.

CRI >80 is standard across all variants. CRI >90 is available as an upgrade for white colour models only — specify it at order time. Saturated colours do not carry a CRI rating because CRI only applies to white light sources.

IP rating options

The FX-3528 comes in four IP variants: IP20 for dry indoor use, IP65 for splash-proof outdoor coverage, IP67 for temporary submersion, and IP68 for continuous underwater use. Each variant uses a different silicone coating, so do not mix IP ratings on the same run — the joints will not seal correctly and moisture will enter at the transition point.

Montering och installation

The strip is mounted on a flexible PCB with a 3M adhesive backing — standard yellow, with red available as an option. It cuts every 25 mm along marked copper pads. Each roll includes a 15 cm output cable. Standard roll length is 5 metres; custom lengths are available on request.

For runs over 3 metres on compatible models, 24VDC is recommended to reduce voltage drop and maintain brightness at the far end. The 30 and 60 LEDs/m models are 12VDC only and work best for shorter runs under 3 metres. Always add 20% current margin when sizing your power supply to keep it running cool and extend its lifespan.

One 5 metre roll of the selected variant with the 15 cm input cable attached. The 3M backing is pre-applied and ready to stick once the surface is cleaned and dried. No controller or power supply is included — those are separate items.

A 12VDC or 24VDC power supply rated for the total wattage of your strip run plus 20% headroom. A single-channel PWM dimmer — any standard LED dimmer that accepts the input voltage of your strip. Rated at 50,000 hours under normal operating conditions. The LED junction temperature range is -20°C to 50°C — avoid enclosing the strip in sealed spaces without ventilation, as trapped heat shortens LED life. At 12 hours of daily use, that is roughly 11.5 years before brightness falls to acceptable end-of-life levels. The 3M adhesive may weaken over several years in high-heat environments; re-mount with additional fixing clips if the bond softens. The 50,000-hour rating assumes the strip is operated within its specified voltage and temperature range.

Outdoor and landscape accent lighting. — The IP65, IP67, and IP68 variants extend use to covered outdoor installations including soffit uplighting, garden path marking, and façade accent lighting. The silicone-coated variants resist moisture for long-term outdoor performance.

Automotive and marine interior accents. — The narrow 8 mm to 15 mm PCB widths fit tight dashboard consoles and door panel channels. IP65 or higher is recommended for marine environments where moisture exposure is constant.

Event and stage temporary installations. — Quick adhesive mounting and straightforward dimmer wiring make the FX-3528 ideal for temporary event lighting that needs to be removed between shows. Colour choices let you match venue branding or seasonal themes.

CRI >90 is optional for white variants only. — Standard CRI is >80. CRI >90 is available as an upgrade for Warm White, Cool White, and Commercial White models. Saturated colours do not have a CRI rating.

Cuts at 25 mm intervals. — Always cut at the marked points on the PCB — cutting between marks breaks the circuit. Use a sharp blade and insulate exposed copper pads with heat-shrink tubing after cutting.

Standard roll length is 5 metres. — Custom lengths are available on request. The 3M adhesive backing is standard in yellow; red backing is an option. The 15 cm input cable is standard — custom lengths can be specified at order time.

Size your power supply with 20% headroom. — A 5 metre run of 120 LEDs/m draws 48 W — use a power supply rated for at least 60 W. Running a supply at its maximum causes overheating and reduces lifespan.

The 3528 package is smaller than the 5050. — The 3528 LED (3.5 mm × 2.8 mm) is smaller and less expensive than the 5050, but delivers lower maximum brightness per LED. For peak brightness applications, consider the FX-5050 series or a COB strip instead.
