The ILED-BH-R275-GL S is a square LED bulkhead light designed for exterior and covered outdoor environments where consistent, glare-controlled illumination is required. The grille crossing diffuser — a frosted cross-hatch pattern molded into the polycarbonate cover — softens the light output and reduces direct glare, making this variant particularly suited to corridors, walkways, and entrances where harsh point-source light would be uncomfortable. Unlike the round R275 bulkhead (ILED-BH-R275), the square 270×270mm form factor aligns with rectangular ceiling tile grids and modern architectural lines, giving installers a clean geometric fit that a round housing cannot match.
Tech specs
The 15W version delivers 1400 lumens and the 18W version delivers 1700 lumens, both at a rated 90–100 lumens per watt using LumiLEDs LM80-certified chips. The 3CCT switch lets you select 2800K warm white, 4000K neutral white, or 6500K cool white at installation — one SKU covers the three most common colour temperatures without needing separate stock. Input voltage accepts either 220–240VAC or 110–277VAC at 50/60 Hz, which gives flexibility for projects in different regions. The power factor is above 0.9, meaning the driver draws current efficiently without unnecessary reactive power. The die-cast aluminum housing measures 270×270×86mm and is rated IP65 for dust and water ingress plus IK10 for impact resistance, so it survives accidental knocks from maintenance ladders, carts, or falling debris. Body colour options are white, black, and silver gray, allowing the fitting to blend or contrast with the surrounding facade. A beam angle of 120° gives a wide, even wash across the target area. The class I construction requires a protective earth connection.
Grille crossing diffuser — what it does
The GL suffix stands for Grille Crossing, which refers to the micro-prismatic cross-hatch pattern built into the diffuser panel. This pattern breaks up direct line-of-sight to the LED chips while still passing a high proportion of the light through. The result is a softer, more evenly distributed beam that feels comfortable to look toward — important in spaces where people pass directly underneath the fitting. Compared with the plain diffuser (ILED-BH-R275 S), which gives the highest raw lumen output, the grille crossing version trades a small amount of peak brightness for significantly better visual comfort. Compared with the eyelid half-moon version (ILED-BH-R275-EL S), which adds a shroud for the lowest glare, the grille crossing offers a middle ground: good light quality without the deep recessed look. The crossing pattern also hides individual LED points from oblique viewing angles, giving a cleaner appearance when viewed from below at an angle.
Optional features
Three factory-installed options are available for the ILED-BH-R275-GL S: an emergency battery pack that provides approximately 90 minutes of backup illumination on mains failure, a DALI dimming driver for integration into building management systems, and a standby motion sensor for presence-reactive lighting. These options must be specified at the time of order because they are installed during manufacturing and cannot be added in the field. The emergency and DALI variants carry the same IP65 and IK10 ratings as the standard version — the internal components are sealed within the same housing.
Packaging and installation
Each unit weighs 2.2 kg net and ships 10 pieces per carton at 24.8 kg gross, in a carton measuring 60×54×32 cm. The square housing mounts to a standard junction box with the provided fixing screws, and the terminal block accepts both wire and clamp connections. Because the input voltage range covers both 220–240VAC and 110–277VAC, no transformer or voltage converter is needed for most international installations.
