The ILED-COB-480 24V 10MM is a Chip-on-Board (COB) LED tape light designed for continuous, dotless linear illumination in cove, under-cabinet, accent and architectural lighting. The 24VDC-only variant delivers 900 lm per metre at 9 W/m (100 lm/W) from 480 COB LED positions packed into a 10 mm wide flexible PCB. Unlike traditional SMD strips that show individual light points, the COB process produces a smooth, continuous line of light — ideal for exposed coves and direct-view installations.

Dotless COB technology

The COB (Chip-on-Board) process places LED chips directly onto the PCB substrate without individual packaging frames, eliminating the gaps between discrete SMD LEDs that create the familiar “dot pattern” on conventional strip lights. The ILED-COB-480 24V 10MM packs 480 COB LED positions per metre into a 10 mm wide PCB, producing a uniform line of light with no visible light points even at close mounting distances.

At 9 W/m and 900 lm/m, this variant delivers slightly lower output than the 10 W/m COB-480 (13923) but operates exclusively on 24VDC — making it compatible with 24V power supplies and controllers without requiring a voltage converter. The 180° beam angle provides wide, even wash illumination ideal for cove and backlighting applications where the light needs to spread across a broad surface.

IP ratings and installation

The ILED-COB-480 24V 10MM is offered in four IP rating variants. The standard IP42 version is suitable for dry indoor environments such as ceiling coves, under-shelf lighting and interior architectural features. The IP65 variant adds a silicone coating that protects against dust and water jets, suitable for covered outdoor use such as soffit lighting and sheltered facades. The IP67 and IP68 variants provide progressive submersion protection — IP67 for temporary immersion and IP68 for continuous submersion — for use in fountains, water features and harsh outdoor environments.

The strip is supplied on 5 metre rolls with a 15 cm input cable pre-attached. It adheres to surfaces using 3M yellow adhesive tape (standard) or 3M red adhesive tape (optional, higher temperature resistance). The flexible PCB can be bent to follow curved contours and cut at the marked 50 mm intervals to achieve custom lengths. Custom roll lengths and cable configurations are available on request. Always verify the cut markings on the PCB before cutting — cutting between marks will disconnect the circuit.

Colour temperature and dimming

The ILED-COB-480 24V 10MM is available in a continuous colour temperature range from 2700K (warm white) to 6000K (cool white), with intermediate options typically available at 3000K, 4000K and 5000K. The CRI >90 rating ensures accurate colour rendering across the full spectrum, making the strip suitable for retail display, gallery accent lighting and food service environments. The strip is dimmable — confirm compatibility with your intended dimmer (TRIAC, 0-10V or DALI) at order time, as not all COB drivers support every dimming protocol. Being a 24VDC-only variant, this model requires a 24VDC driver — it is not compatible with 12VDC systems.

24VDC-only for safety and compatibility.
— The COB-480 24V 10MM operates exclusively on 24VDC — safer for longer runs and commercial installations. Compatible with standard 24VDC drivers without a voltage converter. For 12VDC systems, select the dual-range COB-480 (13923) instead.

True dotless linear light.
— Produces a continuous, uniform line of light with no visible LED dots at close range. 480 LED positions per metre in a 10 mm PCB eliminate the gaps that create dotted patterns on SMD strips. Ideal for visible cove and architectural installations.

CRI >90 standard.
— CRI >90 is standard across the full 2700K–6000K range, exceeding the CRI >80 on many competing strips. Suitable for retail, gallery and food service where colour accuracy affects product appearance.

Four IP rating options.
— Available in IP42, IP65, IP67 and IP68. Select at order time — variants differ in silicone coating and are not interchangeable after manufacture.

Ceiling coves and recessed channels.
— The dotless 180° beam washes ceiling coves and recessed channels evenly, with no visible LED points at close range. The 10 mm profile fits tight cove profiles and the flexible PCB follows curves. CRI >90 renders interior colours accurately.

Under-cabinet and shelf lighting.
— The 10 mm width and low-profile COB package mount discreetly under cabinets, shelves and wardrobes. The 180° beam distributes light evenly. The 9 W/m consumption keeps heat low. IP42 for dry indoor; IP65 for commercial kitchens.

Architectural accent and feature lighting.
— The continuous dotless line highlights architectural features — stair stringers, column edges, wall profiles and display cases — where the strip itself is part of the design. The 2700K–6000K range matches existing lighting; the flexible PCB follows contours.

Retail display and merchandise lighting.
— CRI >90 renders merchandise accurately, influencing purchase decisions. The dotless linear effect creates uniform glow behind glass cases, along shelf edges and in wall niches. The 9 W/m consumption keeps thermal load low.

24VDC-only — not 12VDC compatible. — Operates exclusively on 24VDC — not compatible with 12VDC. For 12VDC projects, select the COB-480 (13923) which offers both 12VDC and 24VDC. Verify system voltage before ordering.

50 mm cut length only. — Cuts at 50 mm intervals only — the only cut length on this variant. The COB-480 (13923) offers both 25 mm and 50 mm cuts. For finer 25 mm cuts, select the 13923. Cut at marked PCB points only.

IP rating is fixed at manufacture. — IP42/IP65/IP67/IP68 variants differ in silicone coating and are not convertible after manufacture. Select the correct IP at order time — an IP42 strip used outdoors will fail prematurely.

Dimmer compatibility must be confirmed. — The COB-480 24V 10MM is dimmable, but dimmer compatibility depends on the 24VDC driver. Not all COB drivers support TRIAC, 0-10V and DALI equally — confirm your combination at order time.

9 W/m vs 10 W/m output. — Produces 900 lm/m at 9 W/m vs the COB-480 (13923) at 1000 lm/m at 10 W/m. Both deliver 100 lm/W — the difference is total output, not efficiency. Choose the 13942 for 24VDC-only; the 13923 for higher output or 12VDC flexibility.
