The ILED-BH-R20W TL is the Tri Guard variant of the Halo round 300mm bulkhead series. The Tri Guard cover is a reinforced polycarbonate shell mounted over the standard diffuser, giving the fixture an extra layer of impact protection without reducing light output. This makes the TL model the natural choice for environments where balls, tools, or deliberate impact pose a realistic threat.
Tech specs at a glance
The ILED-BH-R20W TL is available in two wattage options. The 20W version delivers 2200 lumens. The 30W version delivers 3300 lumens. Both produce 110 lumens per watt from the same Ø300×90mm die-cast aluminium housing. Input is 220-240VAC or 110-277VAC 50/60Hz, so the fixture works in most regions without a transformer. The colour temperature range is 2800K to 7000K — covering warm white, neutral, and cool white — selectable at installation. Colour rendering is above 82. The beam angle is 120°, spreading light evenly across the ground plane. The integrated Benz Tri Guard polycarbonate cover is mounted slightly proud of the housing face; it protects the inner diffuser from ball strikes and impact while transmitting light with minimal loss. The die-cast aluminium body is IP65 rated — dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction — and IK10 rated, the highest impact resistance level for lighting equipment.
Build and installation
The housing is die-cast aluminium with a professional powder-coated finish in white, black or silver gray. The inner diffuser is anti-UV polycarbonate. The outer Tri Guard cover is a separate reinforced polycarbonate shell that fits over the inner diffuser and snaps into the housing rim. The gasketed seal between the housing and the outer cover maintains the IP65 rating even with the protective layer in place. The integral driver is sealed inside the housing — no external ballast or separate power supply is needed. Wiring is direct to mains through the terminal block. Electrical classification is Class I, requiring a protective earth connection. The fixture can be surface-mounted to a flat wall or ceiling using the four mounting points on the back plate.
Control options
This is a standard non-dimmable, non-controlled bulkhead. It switches on and off with the circuit — wall switch, timer, or external sensor. For projects that require DALI dimming, motion sensing, or self-test emergency, order the DALI or emergency variants from the Halo round 300mm series instead. These variants share the same mounting footprint and dimensions but use different internal drivers.
What is in the box
Each unit ships as a single bulkhead with the driver pre-installed, the Tri Guard cover pre-fitted, mounting hardware included and the terminal block ready for connection. The selected colour temperature switch is factory-set — confirm the required setting before ordering, as it cannot be changed after the housing is sealed. No separate controllers, transformers or drivers are packed inside — the fixture is ready to wire direct to mains.
What you need to supply
A circuit breaker or wall switch for on/off control. A mounting surface suitable for the fixture weight. For outdoor installations, confirm the mounting location is within the IP65 protection zone and that the seal remains intact after installation. No special tools beyond a screwdriver and wire strippers are required.
Where it gets used
The ILED-BH-R20W TL is built for locations where the standard bulkhead would not survive repeated impact. Schools and universities use the Tri Guard cover in corridors, playgrounds and sports halls where balls and airborne objects regularly strike walls and ceilings. Transit stations — metro platforms, bus terminals and rail concourses — benefit from the IK10 rating and the reinforced cover, which resist both accidental impact and deliberate tampering. Correctional facilities specify the TL variant for the same reason: the double-layer polycarbonate construction holds up under conditions that would shatter a standard diffuser. Sports facilities, including indoor basketball courts and climbing centres, use the Tri Guard version in perimeter lighting positions where stray balls are a constant risk. Car park columns and loading bay walls also see heavy impact from vehicles and goods, making the TL model the practical choice over the standard R20W.
Certifications and warranty
The ILED-BH-R20W TL carries SAA, CE, RoHS and TUV certifications. SAA approval covers Australian and New Zealand market requirements. TUV certification provides additional European safety verification. The warranty period is three to five years depending on the region and distributor terms.
