Solar power with a wired input
The fitting is designed to run from sunlight: a 1.5W solar panel on the unit harvests the daytime charge, and Highlights list it as wireless solar-powered. The spec also carries a 12VDC or 24VDC input, so an installation that prefers a wired supply — or wants the fitting to run through a control system — has that path. How long the light runs each night depends on the day’s sunshine and the way the fitting is used, so site the panel where it actually sees the sun rather than under a tree canopy. For gardens that want the light on demand regardless of weather, the 12VDC or 24VDC input is the dependable path; for borders where no supply exists, the solar panel is the whole point.
The adjustable head
The head rotates through 180 degrees, which is what separates a spike light from a buried uplight: aim it up a trunk, across a border, or down onto a path edge, and re-aim it seasonally as the planting grows. The 10W COB gives a single even pool of light rather than a dotted pattern, and the colour options cover warm 3000K for planting, 4000K and 6000K for contemporary schemes, or RGB for gardens that change with the occasion.
