The ILED-RL-Q2 is the square solar cat-eye stud that marks the road where the paint and the reflectors stop working: a cast-aluminium body set flush into the surface, three super-brightness LEDs per side, charging through the day and lighting the line through the night. It is the stud for the positions where the guidance has to survive the traffic, the weather and the dark.
Visible from 800 meters
Three super-brightness 5mm LEDs per side sit behind the polycarbonate faces, and the visibility runs roughly 800 meters — the distance at which a driver picks the line up on a dark road before the headlamps sweep it. That is the number the road-safety positions are specified against, and it is the reason the stud replaces the passive reflectors that only work when the headlamps hit them.
Cast aluminium, built for the road
The body is cast aluminium, polished and painted against oxidation, rated to carry 20 tons — the load a heavy vehicle puts on the stud as it crosses. The working temperature runs -30°C to +75°C, so the stud survives the winter roads and the summer surfaces, and the light switches on below 80 lux — the photocell threshold that hands the marking to the LEDs as the dusk settles.
The solar supply
The 2V 150mA mono-crystalline panel charges the 1.2V 150mAh high-temperature NI-MH battery through the day, and the stud runs 72 hours on a full charge — flashing at 2Hz or constant, per the mode set. The battery is the high-temperature type, rated two years with the stud, which is the service cycle to plan the replacements around. The photocell switches the light on below 80 lux — the threshold that hands the marking to the LEDs as the dusk settles — and the working modes are flashing at 2Hz ±20% or constant, set per position.
Red, green and amber
The LEDs come in red, green and amber — the three colours the road logic runs on the edges and the directions. One or two-sided illumination is optional, flashing or constant, so the stud faces the traffic the position needs it to face. The IP68 and IK10 ratings on the fitting are the figures behind the flush install — the stud sits in the lane the vehicles cross and takes the water and the impact the road carries.

Roads, highways and expressways, where the studs mark the lines through the unlit sections. Roundabouts and intersections, where the guidance has to read at speed. Bridges and tunnels, where the reflective markers fail without the headlamps. Pedestrian crossings and bike lanes, where the studs mark the crossing at the distance the drivers need. And the private roads and parking areas, where the solar supply skips the cabling the mains studs would need.
Solar or 24VDC
The Highlights list the supply options as solar or 24VDC, and that covers the two installs the roads run. The solar stud is the one for the unlit sections — the panel and the high-temperature NI-MH battery make it self-contained. The 24VDC option is the one for the managed roads, where the studs join the circuit the control system runs and the photocell hands the switching to the network. Confirm which supply the road uses at order time, because the internal arrangement follows it.
What it is not
The stud is a road-marking fitting: it draws the line and the edges, it does not illuminate a workspace. The specification does not carry a warranty row, so confirm the terms with the sales team at order time. And the IP68 rating covers the stud body — the install follows the road-stud procedure the contractor runs, with the sealing done at the fixing, because the road surface is the part the water and the traffic test.
