The FEL-AD3 is a recessed DMX512 LED spotlight with RGB or RGBW COB output. It is built for stage, architectural, and event lighting where colors have to follow a controller. The RGBW version adds a warm white channel (RGB+3KK), so the same fixture does clean white light and color effects. The aluminum body tilts after mounting, so the beam can be aimed without moving the housing.
Models
Three models cover the range:
- FEL-AD3 8W: 400 lm, body 64mm diameter by 60mm deep, cutout 55mm
- FEL-AD3 12W: 600 lm, body 85mm diameter by 95mm deep, cutout 75mm
- FEL-AD3 20W: 1200 lm, body 105mm diameter by 100mm deep, cutout 95mm
The 8W model suits a small accent or a single fixture; the 20W model covers a larger area or a higher ceiling. Each step up adds output and opening size, so the cutout should be chosen against the ceiling plan.
Color and optics
The source is an RGB or RGBW COB. RGBW adds a warm white channel (RGB+3KK), which gives natural white tones alongside the RGB colors, so the fixture works as a white light and a color light in one. Lenses are fixed at order in 15°, 24°, or 38°. The 15° optic is a tight spot for a performer or object; the 24° suits general accent lighting; the 38° spreads widest for wall washing. The lens cannot be swapped after delivery.
Contrôle
The fixture uses DMX512. The RJ45 socket carries the DMX signal, and the DMX address is set manually with the DIP switch on the decoder, so no software is needed for basic addressing. Each fixture in a DMX chain responds to its own address, which lets one controller run a whole row of units independently. The decoder is part of the fixture, so the address is set on the unit itself rather than through a separate box.
Construction
The housing is aluminum with a PC component. The IP42 rating covers dry indoor rooms. The fixture recesses into a plasterboard ceiling, and the tilt mechanism is part of the trim, so aiming is done by hand after the housing is seated. The aluminum body also carries heat away from the COB source, which keeps the driver within working range in enclosed ceilings.
Power
Input is DC24V through a terminal on the fixture. The fixture needs a matching 24V power supply rather than a mains connection. The supply size depends on the number of fixtures on the run, and the wiring is planned around the DC24V loop.
Installation
Cut a round opening to the cutout size for the model, feed the DMX and power cables, then seat the housing. Connect the RJ45 for DMX and the terminal for 24V power. On a long DMX chain, terminate the last fixture for a stable signal. Always switch off the supply before wiring. On a multi-zone install, give each zone its own address block so the console can run them separately.
Where it fits
The FEL-AD3 suits stages, theaters, clubs, architectural accents, and events where colors have to follow a controller. In a theater, a row of 15° units highlights performers. In an architectural installation, the same fixture washes a wall with scheduled color changes. In a club, the fixture tracks the music through the DMX console. In an exhibition, the addressable units run different scenes in different booths from one console.
Planning a run
Before wiring, decide the address block for each zone and size the 24V supply for the total load. The fixture itself is a recessed housing, so the DMX and power cables are fed through the ceiling opening during installation. Because the address is set on the fixture, a spare unit can be swapped in and addressed on the ladder without reconfiguring the console.
