The FEL-AP1 M is a 110W DMX512 RGBW LED downlight for ceiling installation in churches, theaters, event halls, and commercial spaces where wide-coverage wash lighting is needed.

Light source and color

The fixture uses an RGB+White LED engine good for 16.7 million colors. The dedicated white channel produces a clean neutral white that RGB-only fixtures cannot do. Color mixing happens at the LED level, so there are no color shadows or fringing on the lit surface. The fixture can run in 4-channel (RGBW), 5-channel (RGBW + dimmer), 7-channel (RGBW + dimmer + strobe + program), or 9-channel (extended) mode. Set the mode via the DMX controller or the onboard controls.

Power and dimming

Input range is 110-240VAC, so it works on standard mains voltage in most regions. Power draw is 110W at full output. Dimming uses 16-bit DMX control, which gives 65,536 steps per channel. Fade transitions are smooth with no visible stepping even at low brightness levels where 8-bit systems show their limits. The fixture also supports a 0-30Hz electronic strobe. PWM frequency is 20kHz on the standard version, which is high enough to avoid flicker on camera.

Beam and coverage

Two lens options are available: 35° and 60°. The 35° lens gives a tighter beam for higher intensity over a smaller area. The 60° lens spreads the light wider for general wash coverage. Pick based on ceiling height and the size of the area you need to cover. The housing measures φ176mm in diameter and 397mm tall.

Construction and cooling

The body is aluminum. It acts as both the structural housing and the heat sink. Cooling is entirely passive — no fans, no noise. This matters in quiet environments such as churches and theaters where fan hum would be distracting during a service or performance. The finish is available in black or white. Choose white on painted ceilings where the fixture should blend in, or black if it is mounted in an open rig where light spill onto the housing is a concern.

Mounting

The fixture can be surface mounted to a ceiling or pendant mounted using the included hardware. Pendant mounting works when the ceiling is high and the light needs to sit lower for adequate coverage. The XLR data connectors (3-pin or 5-pin, specify when ordering) are on the side of the housing and remain accessible after installation. Power input uses a Seetronic or Neutrik locking connector, which will not pull loose accidentally.

Control and connectivity

The FEL-AP1 M uses the DMX512 protocol, the industry standard for stage and architectural lighting. Data in and through use 3-pin or 5-pin XLR connectors, with a male input and a female output for daisy-chaining multiple fixtures. The fixture has built-in programs that run without an external controller — useful for standalone setups or trade-show displays where you want color cycling without a console.

Lifespan and reliability

Rated life is 50,000 hours. At 12 hours per day, that is roughly 11.5 years. The driver is built in, so there is no external driver box to mount or cable to route. IP20 rating means indoor use only — dry, climate-controlled spaces. The housing is UV-resistant and should not yellow over time even in sunlit rooms.
