The ILED-DL-A D4 is a recessed square LED downlight with an IP65 rating, built for damp rooms and covered outdoor areas. The IP65 rating means the housing keeps out dust and handles water jets, which is why this model is used in bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens, and covered walkways where a standard downlight would not be allowed. The Citizen or CREE COB source delivers around 100 lm/W, and the square face reads cleanly in a grid layout.
Models
Four models cover the range:
- ILED-DL3-A D4 18W: 1800 lm, body 100mm x 100mm x 64mm, cutout 90mm x 90mm
- ILED-DL4-A D4 28W: 2800 lm, body 136mm x 136mm x 83mm, cutout 125mm x 125mm
- ILED-DL5-A D4 38W: 3800 lm, body 158mm x 158mm x 96mm, cutout 145mm x 145mm
- ILED-DL6-A D4 48W: 4800 lm, body 180mm x 180mm x 109mm, cutout 165mm x 165mm
Each model steps up in output and opening size, so the choice of cutout should be made against the final ceiling plan. The larger bodies also give more surface for heat dissipation in enclosed damp locations. The 18W model is the choice for a shower cubicle or small bathroom; the 48W model covers a bigger room or a covered outdoor area with a high ceiling.
Optics and color
Lenses are offered in 15°, 24°, 38°, or 60°, selected at order. The 15° optic is a tight spot for a single shelf or picture; the 24° and 38° optics suit display lighting and general coverage; the 60° optic spreads widest for open areas. The lens is fixed when the unit is ordered and cannot be swapped after delivery. Color temperature is selectable within 2700K-6500K, and CRI is above 92, so fabric, food, and finish colors read accurately under the light.
Construction
The housing is aluminum, finished in white or black, chosen at order. The IP65 rating covers dust and water jets, which is the main reason this range exists. The electrical classification is Class II. The square body sits flush against the ceiling, and the gasket around the trim keeps moisture out of the ceiling void.
Controls and electrical
Input is 110-277VAC or 220-240VAC with power factor above 0.9. Control is chosen at order: DALI dimmable, Triac dimmable, 0-10V dimmable, or emergency. The DALI version links into a building management system; the Triac version works with standard wall dimmers; the 0-10V version uses a low-voltage control signal. The emergency version connects to a backup supply and requires separate wiring, so confirm the details with the sales team before ordering.
Installation
The fixture recesses into a plasterboard ceiling. Cut a square opening to the cutout size for the model, wire the driver, then seat the housing. Always switch off the supply at the breaker before wiring. In damp rooms, the seal between the trim and the ceiling board matters more than in dry rooms, so press the housing fully home before fixing the trim. Check the ceiling void depth against the model height before cutting, since the 38W and 48W versions sit deeper in the void.
Where it fits
The D4 suits bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens, and covered outdoor areas. In a hotel bathroom, the IP65 rating allows the fixture over a shower cubicle or vanity, which a standard downlight cannot do. In covered walkways and canopies, the same housing works where rain splash is possible but direct exposure is not. The 60° optic spreads light across these open areas; the 15° and 24° optics pick out a single shelf or display.
Certifications
The ILED-DL-A D4 carries TUV, CE, RoHS, and SAA certification. If the project needs certification documents on file, they can be requested from the sales team.
