The ILED-DL-B S2 is a surface-mounted LED downlight. The housing is square — despite the round wording in the product title — and mounts flush on a ceiling or wall without the cutout work a recessed fixture needs. It suits spaces where the ceiling cannot be opened, such as concrete slabs and solid wood ceilings, and it installs in minutes on any flat surface.
Range and models
Four sizes cover the range. The ILED-DL3-B S2 is 9W with 900 lm, 90mm by 90mm. The ILED-DL4-B S2 is 18W with 1,800 lm, 110mm by 120mm. The ILED-DL5-B S2 is 28W with 2,800 lm, 130mm by 135mm. The ILED-DL6-B S2 is 35W with 3,500 lm, 160mm by 165mm. Lumen efficacy is 100 lm/W across the range, so the larger models get their output from bigger light sources rather than running the LEDs harder.
Light source
The fixture uses a CREE COB (chip-on-board) LED, with color rendering index above 92. That is high enough for retail displays, artwork, and any space where fabric or skin tones matter. Color temperature is selectable between 2800K, 4000K, and 6000K, covering warm residential light through cool daylight tones. The switch is on the driver, so the CCT can be set on-site after installation.
Power and driver
The driver is Tridonic, a brand commonly used in commercial lighting. Input voltage accepts 220-240VAC or 110-277VAC. Power factor is above 0.9. The fixture is electrical Class I, so it uses an earth connection. Because the driver is built in, there is no external driver box to hide or mount.
Beam and coverage
The beam angle is 60°, which concentrates the light into a defined pool rather than washing a wide area. This suits accent and task lighting — counters, displays, and work surfaces. The higher models use larger housings for more heat surface, not a wider beam. For general room wash, layer fixtures or pair with wider-beam units.
Construction and IP rating
The body is die-cast aluminum with a PC lens, in white or black finish. The aluminum housing handles heat passively, so there are no fans and no moving parts. IP42 and IP44 are both available; pick the rating at order. IP42 covers normal indoor use, and IP44 adds splash protection, which suits kitchens and semi-exposed areas. The rating is fixed at build time, so decide before ordering.
Dimming options
Three dimming options are offered, selected at order: Triac for standard wall dimmers, 0-10V for analog control systems, and DALI for networked building control. The Tridonic driver is fixed at build time, so match the option to the control system before ordering.
Installation
Surface mounting is a screw or clip job — no cutout, no ceiling cavity requirement. Mark the fixing points, mount the plate, and seat the fixture. The driver connections are accessible before the trim closes. This makes the fixture a practical pick for retrofit work on solid ceilings where recessing is impossible.
Warranty and certifications
Warranty is 3 to 5 years depending on configuration. The fixture carries SAA, CE, and RoHS certifications.
Typical use cases
Retail uses the high CRI and 60° beam to light shelves and displays. Kitchens and counters use the 2800K setting with Triac dimming. Offices use DALI or 0-10V control for zoning. Hotel corridors use the IP44 version where splash protection matters. Spaces with solid ceilings — concrete, tile, or wood — use the surface mount because there is no cutout to make. The combination of a Tridonic driver and a CREE COB source is the same class of parts found in commercial-grade lighting, which is why the fixture is a common pick for projects that need reliable performance.
